"l'hombre de grands arbres" was my answer and it was wrong because I had omitted the "s" from des. Can anyone explain why in this case one should keept the "s" on des?

shouldn't be replaced by ? I thought was a used to introduce an itinerary, as in

The examples:
1. J’ai besoin d’aller faire les courses avant le dîner and
2. Je dois aller faire les courses avant dîner
I understand that in 1. the noun is used and in 2. the verb but in 2. could you also say
Je dois aller faire les courses avant le dîner ?
I’m asking because my mind translates 2. as - i need to go shopping before dining.
why in this exercise is the nous form used one time and the on form another when they are both times speaking about what they will do together?
The test statement is "J'habite _____ Texas." The hint is "Le Texas is an American State." Shouldn't the answer be "J'habite dans le Texas" according to the very first example in the regions, states, counties section yet the answer given is "J'habite au Texas." All the exceptions are overwhelming but this seems to be exactly like the example.

Could you please explain why 'nous permettent' is used in the above sentence and not 'nous permettons'

I've never really understood when to use "en" even with the lessons but with this sentence in particular, why are we using it? I know it's "finir de faire qch" but why is it needed and how do I know when to use it?
