Surely for cars that are "theirs" that is plural and should be "les leurs"?
Should there not be an apostrophe "their's" to denote a single person and therefore allow "la leur"?
Here in SW France, you’ll often come across the road sign “le funérarium” directing you to the funeral parlour. In more formal language, they will also often talk about “des obsèques”, and I believe this refers to the whole funeral service.
If I recall, the English is "We'll spend Saturday in the old town..." The translation for Saturday is la journée instead of samedi. Why is samedi not accepted? It seems like an oversight.
In the French translation of 'After engineers have finally perfected driverless cars' no word is given for 'finally' (eg. 'Après que les ingénieurs auront perfectionné les voitures sans chauffeur').
Why "aux côteś de mon époux" instead of "à côté de mon époux" ?
Hello all,
I'm just in communication with support at the moment and I'm starting to think I dreamt up something. A while ago does anyone remember there being a listening practice history whenever you entered a listening lesson that you have already done. You used to get the date you did it plus the score you gave yourself. Anyone remember?
Many thanks
Martin
PS. Else I think I'm going mad!
Pour cette question, j'ai mis "meilleure que" mais cela dit que la bonne reponse doit etre "mieux que", alors qui a raison? Je pensais qu'on utilise "meilleur" avec le verbe etre.
Aren't we using indirect object with "refuser?" Why do we use "nous" here in the second sentence? Merci!
Est-ce que bande-dessinée veut dire "comic strip," et roman illustré veut dire "graphic novel?"
Is J'etais = Je fus? i am confused because both mean "I was"
