Plural of "terres"Great exercise! This wonderful description of Le volcan de la Reunion reminds me of when I lived and worked in Guatemala - a magical and beautiful country with many volcanoes. Every evening, we could see the active volcanoes burning and glowing against the night sky. Like I said, magical!
I just want to ask why "nouvelles terres" is plural. Of course, I am familiar with "la terre" meaning "the earth". When I researched the meaning of "une terre" (as opposed to "la terre"), the translation given was "land". So, I wrote "quarante-cinq hectares de nouvelle terre". Which I take it would mean: "45 hectares of new land". Is this incorrect or are both variations, correct?
Merci et Bonne Continuation !

Could a sentence like "Pâques est la fête la deuxieme plus célébrée en France, après Noël" work?
I got the question Mathilde a rentré la voiture avant qu'il ne pleuve. wrong because I chose "Mathilde returned the car..." as the "correct" answer was "Mathilde put away the car..." But in English, saying you put away a car sounds like you put a small object away. Since a car is so big, you would return it to its proper destination, which is why I chose this answer. I feel that both these answers could technically be correct.
Got the concept, but would like a list of numbers ☺️
Hi, with reference to “la Belgique a la plus basse proportion de McDonald's par habitant.””
In French, is the apostrophe really used in this way? It looks like an English possessive apostrophe.
Could the phrase "I admire how he managed to ..." be translated using "comment" rather than "comme"?
Quand le soleil retourne....
Can we substitute 'revient' with 'retourne'?
(if no 'why')
Merci
"Halloween" est une fete americaine (meme si certains commencent a` l'adopter dans des endroits comme Paris ou` bcp d'americains vivent. Ca serait interessant de citer les fetes traditionnelles d'automne en France/ses regions ou les fetes dans des pays francophones, n'est-ce pas? Merci.
