How to say five thirty in French

There are a couple of ways, depending whether you are speaking formally or informally.

cinq heures et demi (du matin or du soir, depending on whether you mean am or pm) -- that's less formally.

cinq heures trente  -- Thats formally, and a.m. is implied, because otherwise it would be dix-sept heures trente.
