"Descendre de" rule
This may have a simple answer, but if 'de' becomes du or des when followed by le or les, why would the correct response on the quiz be: Elle descend de l'avion rather than Elle descend du l'avion?
I've re-read the lesson on when to use "d'autres" and "des autres" and I don't quite understand why "the taste of others" is "le goût des autres". I thought that would only be the case if it was specific other people "the taste of the others", and in the case of this film title it should be "le goût d'autres" - a general case of the taste of unspecified others. What am I missing here please?
OK so I selected "Elle va revenir dans cinq minutes" as in she is going to come back in 5 minutes.
However the correct answer was "Elle revient dans cinq minutes".
Are these not both correct, I mean apart from being word perfect?
Hi,
I am still confused as to why 'égal' is marked incorrect .. Can you explain when in your examples of the two sentences, deux plus deux égale/égal are used.
The translation in English is "but I'm not against the idea" - why is "the idea" omitted?
I have gotten this same question wrong several times and I still don't know why. "Les mêmes scientifiques". It is an adjective which should agree in number with the plural "scientifiques". Please help Thanks, Patti
Hi, the L in 'l'ai dit', is this just there to separate the vowels, or is it actually a pronoun? Doesn't really make much sense as a pronoun?
I'm thinking there may be a mistake in the translation of this phrase:
"mais la Tour Eiffel s'incline face au vent"
The translation is given as "the Eiffel Tower tilts into the wind" but this doesn't make sense from a scientific point of view!
