So you use des if the country is plural like Etas-unis, but Pays du Gaules is du?

Why is this not in the subjunctive form?C'est vrai qu'il est un peu nul. Since this is an opinion wouldn't it be "qu'il soit un peu nul."

Qu'est-ce qu'il est vachard ! - He's so mean!In today's ( 25 octobre 2017 ) Mot du Jour, there is this item : Qu'est-ce qu'il est vachard ! - He's so mean! Why is this NOT a question ? It begins with "Qu'est-ce que ..." ??? The "mot du jour" is vachard.

Subject vs object ...I found the lesson confusing as well as the answer to this question. Je (subject) regarde (object) un film object, why was (un film) the subject. Also in the lesson its informs us that the "subject" can be replaced with with a "pronoun" , and then proceeds to replace the "object" with a "Pronoun. I do not comprehend why I am wrong."

Rentrée is féminin, n’est-ce pas?In the answer provided as correct “Je faisais le lit quand tu es rentrée.” Is there not an assumption the “tu” is referring to someone female?

What is the difference here: son propre défaut vs. son défaut ?Chacun a son propre défaut. I think that the above locution has the same sense as «Chacun a son défaut.»; however it was marked incorrect on the quiz. Please advise the difference.

Using reflexivesWhen using a reflexive verb, e.g., se laver, se lever, se réveiller, etc., I was under the impression that in the second person plural (vous) an "S" was added to the verb in the passé composé. Am I wrong?
