So if I'm from Chicago Illinois in the United States I would say "J'habite à Chicago, dans l'Illinois, aux États Unis."?

Is it essential to change the "des pâtes" to "les pâtes" for the passive? That's what I got marked wrong for.

Didn't get it with "soleil"So, I didn't get it: Are they both incorrect, il fait du soleil and il fait soleil, or just one of them? I guess, both, 'cause I think what I learned was "il y a du soleil", but I just need to make sure. Thanks!

Bonjour Aurélie,

As I’m re-learning and learning in a non-linear fashion, i would find it useful to have a link in this lesson to other uses of « dont » ...for example to say « including... »

« bien qu’on ne s’entend pas, c’est quand même mon frère ».  this is not the right place to ask this question but the example is here!  

what is the rule that says « c’est quand même » instead of « il est quand même » mon frère?

Soit...soit« Soit on passe le Noël chez mes parents...soit..ici ».  Is it possible to say (paraphrasing)...  « On passe le Noël soit...chez mes parents soit ici » instead of putting « soit » at the very beginning of the sentence?

Couvrez-vous la tête...couvrez-la vousIs it possible to add this example to the lesson on double object pronouns.  At moment there's no example if changing from a command in that form and the substitution of object...not sure of placement rule...

Il faut que..."il faut déjà qu'il veuille bien m'aider."  Is the use of déjà necessary?  I see that it adds emphasis to the fact that "he" really wants to help but can one do without it?  Just Curious!
