The sentence to be translated - You could come with Alice and me if you want.
The correct response - Tu peux venir avec Alice et moi si tu veux.
What is the rule here regarding present tense vs conditional?
One of the possible answers for the end of the last sentence was I believe "...dès que je peux" for the translation of "as soon as I can". I chose pourrais instead of peux because I thought the sentenced implied an action in the future. I was a bit surprised to see a present tense used here. Can you explain why present is preferable to future?
In the sentence - Comment as-tu réussi à réserver une table dans un restaurant aussi chic ?' - could the word si be used as an alternative to aussi?
it could be a strong belief so why marked wrong in favour of penser
Why is ce matin-là preferable to cette matinée and why is the latter not acceptable? I thought that if you wanted emphasis on the morning, you would use matinée vice matin. I realize that the là added to matin certainly adds the focus, but why is cette matinée not given as another possibility. As you may have already surmised, I struggle with these masculine / feminine forms for morning, day, evening, year, etc. despite having reviewed the lesson. Thanks for your guidance in advance.
Shouldn't the past participle agree with the subject in this?
