This exercise is titled, Le Sun7 Beach...
It should be, Le Sunset Beach...
The same error occurs in the second phrase of the exercise.
Please help! Text: "Le matin on fait le lit. On le couvre pour faire joli et bien rangé." I translated it loosely as "we cover it(the bed) for 'it' to be pretty and tidy" But why is it not '.. pour le faire joli et bien rangé ' (why is the object pronoun not repeated??) Without the object pronoun (pour le faire) couldnt it also mean "we cover it (the bed) to be 'pretty and tidy'...(we do it so we appear to be nice and organized). Bottom line... what is the grammar explanation, if any, for no 'le/la' between pour and faire in the text.
As a test question immediately after the lesson it is easy. But most North American and indeed many British Commonwealth countries would consider 'receiving the degree' what happens at the official ceremony. Obtain/earn would be less ambiguous outside the time frame of lesson/test. Should it be changed form receiver to 'obtain or earn'?
I decided to take a chance today and add an e on the end of "je me suis ennuyée" to see whether it would be accepted as an answer. It wasn't. It's a shame really, given that this is what those of us who are female should be writing. I suppose it would constitute a huge amount of work for Kwiziq to incorporate feminine options thoughout all the quizzes. But perhaps this could be a long-term goal?
Is splitting the bill a common occurrence in french restaurants?
Pourquoi "Ayons de la foi" n'est pas correct, et on dois dire "Ayons la foi"?
Why is the past subjunctive called for here?:
Je me souviens de cet hiver-là comme l'un des plus rudes que j'aie vécus
- Oui, elle peut ___[le]_____ décider car l'égalité homme-femme fait partie des valeurs essentielles de la République.
Yes, it can decide it, for gender equality is part of the Republic's essential values.(HINT: "decide it" = to deny French nationality to someone who doesn't respect gender equality ) -
Firstly, I’m not sure why "elle" is used, unless it’s to expand something already mentioned, eg "une élection"?Secondly, does "décider" refer to a denial that’s already been mentioned? In English to decide an election / an issue is neutral, it doesn’t imply denial or approval.
Hi, what is the point of inverting verbs? Does it change the mood of the question? All I got from this lesson was "it sounds better".
It seems that meme to express 'same' must be prefixed with the article. The english sentence (forgive me if it is 'not exactly first class english) " i got high marks same as you" would be translated as 'comme toi"....you cannot use 'meme' by itself to mean same?
Is "he felt the same" il s'est senti la même OR il a ressenti la même ??It cannot be 'même'.??
