My car is falling to pieces! OK, I bought it at least fifteen years ago, and I don't really take care of it, but still! My rear windscreen wipers [US: windshield wipers] only work half the time, I haven't been able to open the front passenger window for more than three years, my spare tyre [US: spare tire] is flat and I had lent my jack to a friend who never gave it back [to me], to name but the most urgent issues! Last month, I was in the middle of nowhere when suddenly the battery died on me! And obviously, my mobile battery was also dead, out of solidarity! I had to push the car to the side of the road. Then I took my jumper cables out of the trunk, and I waited for a good soul to take pity on me!
