When I was sixteen, I'd had to bug my mother for weeks for her to take me to watch "Amélie" with my best friend Lola. As soon as the film had started, the fantasy and the magic of the storyline had won me over completely. The main character, Amélie, goes to a lot of trouble to make sure that other people's lives are better. Despite her loneliness and her extreme shyness, she has a rather mischievous and romantic view of the world. The director, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, created an incredible masterpiece which I still find so inspiring and moving. Although the film is a bit underrated in France, it has had great international success. And one day, when my daughter is older, I will introduce her to Amélie (while) hoping that she will enjoy this film as much as I did.
