Email subject : Congratulations on your degree! Dear Thomas, we really wanted to congratulate you for getting your Master's degree in English with distinction! Your uncle and I are very proud of you. We know that you worked hard to get there, and we're so happy that all those hours of studying, all those sacrificed holidays [US:vacations] and all that lost sleep were not in vain! And the distinction! What a cherry on top! You had told us that you didn't believe it [would happen], that you would be satisfied with the passing grade... You sure fooled us! We tried to call you to congratulate you personally, but you probably spent last night celebrating [that] by going out and having fun with your friends! We'll try again later, and in the meantime, once again all our congratulations my darling!

Let me take a look at that...
