Before that day in July when my mother took me to the circus, I had never even heard of a unicycle. I still remember distinctly how my jaw dropped when this beautiful lady, who looked like she was made of glitter, appeared gracefully on this strange contraption. I turned to my mother, with a perplexed look on my face, and asked her where the second half of the lady's bike had gone. After she'd explained to me what a unicycle was, I couldn't keep my eyes off the artist in front of me, who fluttered around the ring like a sparkling fairy. It was there and then that I decided to become a unicyclist, and my passion has never faltered since then.
